The Old Shed in Riverside, CA

My friend, Rena, took me to see a friend of hers (Nancy) who owns a few acres in the hills of Riverside, California. There are many citrus and avocado trees on the property, which do get harvested each year.

Apart from the lovely view, she has from her hilltop, I was attracted to the scene of the old rusted wagon body next to the small shed. The palm trees in the distance are very evocative of the Riverside skyline.

I did this painting on Canson Mitientes paper with a variety of Prismacolor Nupastels; Diane Townsend soft pastels; Conte pastel pencils; Caran d’Ache pastel pencils; and Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils.
