One Step Forward

It was a rainy day, and I was at South Coast Plaza, a shopping center in Costa Mesa, CA.  There is a covered bridge between two portions of the mall, and umbrellas are made available to take from one end to the other. I saw this little girl gripping a yellow umbrella with great determination and loved the contrast with her red woolly coat as well as the reflections on the wet pavement. I took a picture and made the oil painting based on it.
